Water Valley Elementary and Water Valley High School have been recognized by the Texas Education Agency as Title I, Part A Distinguished Performance schools for the 2009-2010 school year.  The awards are based on outstanding academic performance within both the state and federal accountability systems.  Each campus must have at least 40% of its students classified low income to be considered a Title I, Part A campus.  Further, each campus must have met Adequate Yearly Progress in the two previous school years; been rated exemplary in 2009 and at least recognized in both the 2007 and 2008 school years.
