Each day
your child will bring home a folder with his or
her discipline calendar stapled in it. This
calendar will be marked with a green, yellow or
red light. Please check the folder each day in
order to stay aware of your child’s behavior at
school. Please encourage your child to earn
green lights each day as daily and weekly
rewards are given. I expect good behavior in my
room and it is rewarded accordingly. If we all
work together and carry out our own
responsibilities, learning will be our main
focus rather than discipline and behavior. This
folder will also be used for bringing home
graded papers, notes to parents, and homework.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Green Light—Student is exhibiting
desired behavior. Lots of praise will be
given! Students earning at least four green
lights in one week will participate in a “Green
Light Reward Activity” on Fridays.
Yellow Light—Following a review of the
rule that has been broken and a verbal warning,
a student has chosen to continue unacceptable
behavior. The student will lose recess
privileges.
Red Light—The student continues to
exhibit unacceptable behavior. The student is
sent to the principal’s office and parents are
called. All recess privileges are lost for the
day.
A verbal
warning and/or yellow light will be surpassed
for serious infractions.
